Chelsea is a veterinarian in Colorado Springs. She went above and beyond in the planning of a recent company team meeting and it was amazing. Her co-worker Lauren wanted to show appreciation in a unique way. So she reached out to Custom Singing Telegrams. That's when the ideas started flowing. Because Lauren calls Chelsea “Tiger King,” she had a sparkly Joe Exotic shirt and a patriotic tiger-striped trucker hat shipped to our Denver HQ. And because a Tiger King wouldn't be complete without at least one big cat, she had two adorable tiger stuffies shipped to us as well – along with a few other gifts. We then helped Lauren pick a song that would communicate the appropriate level of appreciation. We landed on Tina Turner's iconic signature anthem “Simply the Best.”
When delivery day arrived, I painted a Joe Exotic-style handlebar mustache on my face (the trucker hat had the party-in-the-back portion of Exotic's blonde mullet attached, but the facial hair was up to me). Lauren emerged from a room in the back of the practice around noon to find Joe Exotic wielding an acoustic guitar. “I call you when I need you, when my heart's on fire....you're simply the best,” I sang as I strummed the corresponding chords. Lauren rocked out and danced as she clutched the tiger stuffies and smiled. When she placed her hand on her heart, it was obvious she was feeling the love. Mission accomplished.
