Unpopular opinion: Christmas sucks. Or at least it did for Orange peel moses until he discovered Santacon. Santacon, the holiday pub crawl founded by The Cacophony Society (a group that was instrumental in Burning Man’s early days), proudly practices weird traditions like singing alternate lyrics to popular Christmas songs and giving “Misfit Toys” to passersby. It was in this weird, creative community that Orange peel moses first flipped Ludacris’ promiscuity anthem “Area Codes” into a Christmas song of sorts. A LudaChristmas song, shall we say. For the recording, Denver producer El Javi reverse-engineered the Ludacris beat and Peel’s duet partner Lex added some ad libs.
”Area Codes” featuring LexaPeel drops December 1 on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
